The Rat IL-6 ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of Rat IL-6. Interleukin-6 (IL6), is a multifunctional cytokine that plays important roles in host defense, acute phase reactions, immune responses, nerve cell functions and hematopoiesis. IL-6 is a prototypic member of the IL-6 superfamily of cytokines that share gp130 as a component required for signal transduction. This assay employs a biotinylated antibody specific for Rat IL-6 coated on a 96-well plate and uses a colorimetric detection method with HRP-conjugated streptavidin, measured at 450 nm. |
