Penicillin Streptomycin Neomycin Solution is used to prevent bacterial contamination of cell culture. It is effective against Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. Penicillin can inhibit replication of Gram-positive bacteria by interfering with cell wall formation, Streptomycin and Neomycin can cause inhibition of protein synthesis and death in susceptible bacteria When reconstituted in 10ml of sterile water, the concentrations of antibiotic are as followed , Penicillin G, Sodium Salt > 5KU/ml, Streptomycin Sulfate > 5mg/ml and Amphotericin B > 10mg/ml. |
