| Description: |
The MTS Cell Proliferation Assay Kit is a sensitive colorimetric method for quantifying viable cells in proliferation and cytotoxicity assays. Viable, metabolically active cells reduce the MTS tetrazolium compound via NAD(P)H-dependent dehydrogenase enzymes to form a soluble formazan product, which can be directly measured by absorbance at 490 nm. Unlike the MTT assay, the MTS assay requires no washing or solubilization steps, as the reagent is added directly to the culture medium, making it well suited for high-throughput analysis in 96-well microplates. |
