| Description |
A selective and differential culture medium designed for the isolation and characterization of Gram-negative bacteria, particularly members of the Enterobacteriaceae family. The formulation incorporates bile salts and crystal violet, which effectively suppress the growth of most Gram-positive organisms. Lactose is included as a fermentable carbohydrate, allowing differentiation based on lactose-fermenting ability, and organisms capable of lactose fermentation produce acid that leads to distinctive color changes in the medium, enabling rapid visual identification. This product is available in both dehydrated and granulated form. |
