| Description: | L-Tryptophan is an essential amino acid and the precursor of serotonin, a platelet clotting factor, neurohormone and neurotransmitter. The plasma ratio of L-Tryptophan to all of the other large neutral amino acids determines the uptake of L-Tryptophan by the brain, where the higher the ratio, the greater the uptake of L-Tryptophan. It has been used for bone marrow-derived neutrophils isolation as well as in the study of the neuron network in pathologically normal retina. |
