Human IL-5 ELISA Kit

The Human IL-5 ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of Human Interleukin-5 (IL-5), or also known as Eosinophil Differentiation Factor (EDF). IL5 is a lineage-specific hematopoietic growth factor that stimulates the production of eosinophils and eosinophil colonies from normal human bone marrow cells. It is a potential candidate gene in the pathogenesis of asthma, as it is the main cytokine controlling eosinophil activity and eosinophils are pivotal in the development of airway inflammation.

This assay employs a biotinylated antibody specific for Human IL-5 coated on a 96-well plate and uses a colorimetric detection method with HRP-conjugated streptavidin, measured at 450 nm.
