Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD⁺) is a vital coenzyme present in all cells, functioning in redox reactions where NAD⁺ is reduced to NADH, playing a central role in metabolism and other cellular processes. Due to its broad biological significance, NAD⁺ is a common target in pharmaceutical research. The NAD/NADH Colorimetric Microplate Assay Kit provides a simple and direct method for measuring NAD⁺/NADH levels in various samples, using an alcohol dehydrogenase cycling reaction in which NADH reduces a formazan reagent. The resulting color intensity, measured at 450 nm, is proportional to the NAD⁺/NADH concentration.
