| Description: | Ampicillin Sodium Salt is an antibiotic belonging to the beta-lactam group. It inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis via the inhibition of peptidoglycan synthesis. It has a broad-spectrum antibacterial activity against a wide range of species, namely, Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Ralstonia solanacearum and Escherichia coli. Ampicillin Sodium Salt is commonly used to study antibiotic resistance and for the selection and maintenance of recombinant plasmids in E. coli. |
