A nutrient-rich liquid medium optimized for the non-selective growth of Escherichia coli and efficient bacteriophage propagation. Compared to standard media such as LB agar and nutrient agar, 2xYT agar contains twice the concentration of tryptone and yeast extract, providing additional amino acids, vitamins, and growth factors. This high-nutrient formulation promotes rapid, high-density bacterial cultures, ensuring actively dividing host cells that support robust phage replication. Easy to pour and store agar medium designed for rapid preparation. Just heat in the microwave for 3 minutes to fully melt, ideal for laboratories requiring fast and efficient media preparation. No Autoclaving required. |
